Random Gun Control Thought

There's an old pro argument I thought about today. This claims that an armed citizenry is useless in a revolt against a tyrannical government that has the technological and organizational terrors the likes of the modern US armed forces to support it. The theoretical point made is that a "bunch of yahoos" with small arms couldn't possibly make an impact against modern US armed forces.

Does anyone else think the insurgency has pretty much negated that argument?

According to some military models of their day, the USA overwhelmingly won the Viet Nam war by 1962. The problem is that so many gun-grabbers think like a fat German air ace who claimed that his Luftwaffe would bomb Britain into submission. As far as fascists (including liberals) are concerned, there is no such thing as moral fiber or individual courage.

I don't think the insurgents have won anything yet. I also believe that if this were being done here in the US, those carrying the guns would probably join up with the government to go after us no gun carrying, gay rights advocating, public school supporting, D&D playing freaks!
